2012 Volkswagen Beetle

I bet a lot of guys are trying to determine if they can really own the new VW Beetle. And, I might be one of them. This car still has some of the feminine characteristics that have forever deemed it a “chic” car, but with its flatter roof line, boxter like tail lights and turbo 2 liter engine, the beetle has definitely changed for the better. It also doesn’t hurt that Jay Leno did his own review of the beetle.

2012 Volkswagen Passat VR6


Not as boring as it looks? In general, I think VW is making a mistake in their product direction. I own a 2008 VW Jetta and I bought it because it wasn’t an Accord or Camry. I didnt want to drive a bland car. I went with the 2.5L with the manual trans; it has good power and is fun to drive. Instead of being unique, VW is now becoming one of “them”. Trying to make cars that are just like Toyota and Honda.

I haven’t driven the new Passat, but let’s hope this car still has some of the German qualities that made the former models fun and somewhat unique. A solid V6 and what should be a tight suspension, I am holding my final opinion until I actually drive one.

The all new 2012 Volkswagen Passat is ready to debut. Built in Tennessee and made for the American market. Although the new Passat may not wow you with its corporate design, this new VW Passat stands toe to toe with its main competitors from Toyota and Honda.
