Ok.. so how will we get the electricity?
Lately there seems to be dozens of new and old manufacturers looking to introduce electric cars to the US. Although I am all for alternative fuel sources, I am just not sure how we will produce enough electricity to power this new wave of transportation
So what’s the plan Fritz?
So does the new GM have a plan to succeed? I know it has only been a few weeks for the new GM, but I just don’t see a clear direction.
As I see it, the biggest problem with GM is that they still dont have a solid small car line-up. Chevrolet has the Cruise coming out some time in 2011 and the Spark (built by Daewoo), but we have not heard of much else. Will the Cruise and Spark be the line-up of small cars GM has been trying to build for the past 40 years? or will they be another Vega, Chevette, Cavalier or Cobalt.
GM has a history of building what they think the public wants rather than asking. Recently Bob Lutz announced that the G8 will return as the Caprice Classic only for it to be rescinded a few days later. The reason? Fritz doesn’t like rebadging cars. Although I would agree with this in general, it would not be a rebadge if the Caprice replaces the G8. GM needs to listen to their customers, read the hundreds of message boards and produce the cars that have a chance to be successful.
Time for some new blood at GM.
Not so transforming.
I was surprised to see this Motortrend article on the new bumble bee Camaro, thinking it would look a lot like the movie car. Well, I certainly was disappointed! No deep set air dams or custom wheels, nope, not here!
Chervrolet slapped on a few decals and emblems and are charging nearly a $1000 more for this special edition Camaro. I guess rebadging a G8 to an Impala is out of the question, but making money on a poorly executed special edition is the wave of the future.
What do you think? would you pay $1K just to have this look?
Saturn has a fan club?
Yes it’s true… Saturn really does have a fan club. Check out this article from CNN regarding those Saturn fanatics! I have to admit, I actually do like the Sky. Saturn really has taken the place of Oldsmobile. It’s no longer different, just more of GM. I say kill it and move the Sky to Cadillac.
Take a look at Alfa
I really like the all new Alfa vehicles. Take a look at the new Alfas posted at Top Speed. Above is a picture of the MiTo. Could this possibly make it to America? How would this compete with KA from Ford or the Mini from BMW?
